My Last Day in Paris

Salut Mes Amis,

Today was my last full day in Paris.  We went to the Marais area again for my parents to do some shopping and also to find a candy store that we saw the other day.  We searched and finally found the candy store but they are closed on Wednesday.  We are going to go to their website when we get home.  After that we went to the Ile de St. Louis and had ice cream at Berthillion which is one of the most famous and oldest ice cream stores in the world.  I had a double scoop of peach and red peach.  They were delicious.  After that we took three metros to the Eiffel Tour and went up to the very top.  The lines were really long and it took forever to get to the top but it was really cool.  My favorite part was going to the top.  After that, I bought a couple of souvenirs and we had to go back to Galleries Lafayette, the big department store, for my parents and my sister.  I was kind of cranky because I was getting hungry.  We went to Chez Clement for dinner and had terrible service - it took forever to get my chicken.  I had a really great dessert - profiteroles!  Now we are home and getting packed to come home.  We have a really early flight tomorrow.  I bought some surprises for our class and can't wait to share it with you.  I'm happy to be coming home but I've had a really good vacation.  Hope you have liked my blog.  By the way, I have counted 443 Smart Cars while I was in Paris!

See you really soon,
Jonathan

Paris 7 in Paris

Bonjour,

I had fun today.  First, I did a lot of homework.  Then, we went out and walked around again. When we were walking, my sister got a coat and a dress.  They are very nice.  We went to lunch at Pizza Sarno in the Place St. Michel on the left bank and had pepperoni pizza.  It was delicious.  After lunch we went and got shoes for my dad.  After that we had dinner at the Jade Cafe and I had pasta with butter.  I went home on the metro after that and transferred metros at my favorite station - Reamur-Sebastabol - I will say it for you all when I get home - I love saying it!  I have now seen 343 Smart Cars!!!!!!  I love reading everyone's comments on my blogs!  I'm going to take a shower now and then go to bed.  Flat Stanley is really tired too!

Bonsoir,
Jonathan

Day 6 in Paris

Bonjour,

Today we tried to go to the Picasso Museum but when we finally found it, we saw that it was closed until October 24th!  We were really hungry after that and ate at a cafe near the Place des Vosges.  After lunch we dug in a sandbox in the Place des Vosges.  Then we went shopping at a big department store called Galleries Lafayette and I got some french Pokemon cards.  After shopping, we went to the Place de Madeline to a pretty food store called Fauchon and bought some pastries.  Then we came home and met my dad and then went to a souffle restaurant for dinner.  The chocolate souffle was good.  We have now counted 277 Smart Cars since I've been here.

Bonsoir,
Jonathan

Day 5 in Paris

Bonsoir Mes Amis,

Today I went to the Jardins d'Acclimation which is a like a giant carnival which has roller coasters, carousels, game booths, prizes, a river ride, and some playgrounds and some cool animals.  My favorite was the roller coasters.  After the park, we went back to our apartment and I played football on my DS.  Then my dad got home and we went out for dinner at a french restaurant, Le Petit Bofinger.  Now we are back at the apartment and my dad is trying to find football on French television.  Today we are up to 234 Smart Cars.  I'm still having a good time in Paris.

Au Revoir,
Jonathan

Day 4 in Paris

Bonjour Everybody,  I had another big day in Paris today.  In the morning, we went to a famous church called Notre Dame.  At Notre Dame, we saw the rose windows.  The rose windows are one of the most famous windows in the world.  I thought Notre Dame was kind of creepy because it was so old.  After Notre Dame, we had lunch with one of my mom's friends from when she lived here.  The woman brought her 10 year old grandson and we played together on my mom's iphone.  He was nice even though he didn't speak very much english.  After lunch we had hagen daz ice cream.  Then we went to another ice cream store across the city and had more ice cream.  Then we went to a very old candy store and got some chocolate.  We went out to dinner tonight and visited the Ritz Hotel which was very fancy.  Now we are back at the apartment and we are going to go to sleep.  I'm having a lot of fun.  Tomorrow is going to be another great day!

Enchante,
Jonathan

Day 3 in Paris

I had a big day in Paris with my family.  We took a train to Versailles Palace where the king and queen of France lived.  The palace was huge and my favorite part was the gardens because they were so pretty.  Then we left and went and had dinner and took the funicular up to dinner at Montmartre where there are a lot of artists.  Then we walked down 211 stairs back to the metro after dinner.  After dinner we went back to our apartment and I did some homework and am doing my blog.  Now I am up to 158 smart cars.  I had a giant and great day today.

Bye,

Jonathan

My First couple of Days in Paris

Hi Guys,

I've had a great time in Paris so far.  I saw the Champs Elysee and the Eiffel on my first night here.  Yesterday I went to the Louvre and I saw the Mona Lisa and one of the king's swords and a couple of crowns.  Today I had a really big day.  I went to the Luxembourg Gardens and I was playing on the playground and splat, I fell about 8 feet.  A bunch of French ladies got scared and called the security who called the fire department.  The fire department came and put me on a board and they took me and my family in the fire truck to the hospital.  They took my blood pressure and saw that I was okay and I got to go back to our apartment.  Now I am playing with my DS and feeling better but my back is a little sore.  My favorite part of Paris so far is the Louvre.  I've taken the metro a lot but it's not my favorite thing because it sort of makes me nauseous.  I've been counting how many Smart Cars I've seen since I got here and I've seen 154 so far.  Will keep you posted on my count.  Tomorrow we are going to Giverny, Monet's house and will tell you about that tomorrow night.

Bye,
Jonathan
